“100 Years of Elmer Bernstein” — The Live Concert Recording
Now Available for Purchase as CD or Digital Download
Released on April 4th, on what would have been the maestro’s 104th birthday, the live recording of the National Symphony Orchestra’s “100 Years of Elmer Bernstein” concert, under the direction of Bernstein’s son, Peter Bernstein, is now available for purchase.
In honor of Elmer Bernstein’s centennial, the December 9th, 2022, concert took place in Dublin, Ireland, a place held near and dear by the great composer, who recorded many of his signature soundtracks in Dublin’s Windmill Lane Studios, among them, My Left Foot and Martin Scorsese’s The Age of Innocence. He also spent many holidays in County Kerry, a long-time favorite escape.
Initially, several select excerpts had been made available by the concert’s host and film music specialist, Tim Burden, and can still be enjoyed on YouTube. Now, the entire concert, presented from the original concert hall stereo master, meticulously recorded to preserve the sound and character of the performance as originally heard, can be enjoyed either as a limited-edition CD (while supplies last) or as a digital download.
All 24 tracks can be previewed, and even purchased separately, on the Willow & Cavern website.
This concert recording has been produced in collaboration with the Elmer Bernstein Estate.
